Today, we’re planning the perfect baby shower. We browsed around looking for online inspiration for the following four perfect shower picks: the food, the decor, the cake, and the favors. We wanted to go classy, but not too traditional. Take a look!
1. The Food

Baby showers are traditionally held in the afternoon – no woman in that stage of pregnancy can handle a late night. For that reason, whenever people think shower, they think light food and tiny sandwiches. We were in the mood for something a little more substantial. These Hawaiian chicken and pineapple skewers are just as portable as sandwiches, but way more memorable. Pair it with a few salads and your guests will surely be satisfied.

2. The Decor

This decor is so precious. We love the fresh pastel colors, and that they’ve held back from going overboard on traditional blues and pinks. The simple glass vases of wildflowers are perfect and the overhead tarp would provide some much-needed relief from the sun.
3. The Cake

We thought we would choose a non-traditional type of dessert for this event, but just couldn’t resist the little violets (which are totally edible) gracing the top of this sponge cake. It matches the decor so well – perfect for an outdoor shower. It’s hard to tell from the photo, but this cake is also layered with jam made “from the petals of violets”.

4. The Favors

A sweet, simple thank you to your guests at the end of the party. Since your guests will probably be all women, a bottle of nail polish is totally appropriate, and refreshingly adult after a baby-filled day.
